To whom it may concern...

National Geographic has organized, among their many photo camps, one in Jordan - the "classroom" had 20 students, all Syrian refugees.

One really doesn't wish to "go political" here, but the kids' photos are particularly poignant exactly because they transcend the political dimension of their unimaginable condition.

Quite fitting and symbolic the opening lines of a 15-year-old refugee, quoted in full by the magazine, are for that transcendence...

A selection of photos taken by the kids, with a superb and striking attention to utterly symbolic detail, a hallmark of the best of the best of photojournalists, can be seen in the original article published on the NatGeo website.

A larger collection of images are on the Amal ou Salam project's website.
