Olympic spirit

Now that the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi are over, it is a co-incidence of sorts that I found via some news item a superb photo album by Dietmar Eckell...

He has been capturing the sights of abandoned Olympic venues - decay and the marks of time in general always have a strange beauty, and these photos show ruins with very special resonances, considering that they were the scene of some remarkable human achievements.

The photo album is entitled "Olympic Spirit" - and , especially after the closing ceremony of the most expensive Olympic Games ever, one wonders how in some decades some of those venues will look like...
